There are many classification systems for vascular plants, bryophytes and lichens that differ from those adopted on the site.
Latin names, taxa status and author lists may contain typos and factual errors.

Therefore:

do not consider information from our site as standard and absolutely correct;

System of genera, species and subspecies taxa

The system of Latin names of species and synonyms of vascular plants is based on the checklist by S.K. Cherepanov "Vascular plants of Russia and adjacent states (the former USSR)" (St-Petersburg, 1995).
The system of Latin names of species and synonyms of bryophytes is given according to the list of genera and species from the site "Arctoa" (Ignatov, M.S., O.M. Afonina, E.A. Ignatova et al. 2006. Check-list of mosses of East Europe and North Asia. --Arctoa 15: 1-130.).
The list of Latin names of species and synonyms of liverworts and anthocerot mosses is given according to the book by A.D. Potemkin and E.V. Sofronova "Liverworts and hornworts of Russia (vol. 1, 2009).
List of Latin species names and synonyms of lichens taken from the book by G.P. Urbanavichus "A checklist of the lichen flora of Russia" (St-Petersburg, 2010).

If you are interested in the current status of any taxon, consult specialized scientific publications or web resources.

The database is periodically replenished with species that, for one reason or another, are absent from the original lists. In addition, individual taxa are periodically revised to bring the system up to date. The names of the added taxa, as well as those whose status has been changed, are indicated in the lists in a special way.

System of families and taxa of higher ranks

Families of flowering plants are presented in the composition and scope proposed by A.L. Takhtajan (1987) (see also Wikipedia). The names of the divisions, classes and orders of vascular plants are given according to the publication "Жизнь растений" ("Plant Life", 1974).
Families of ferns are presented according to http://www.biolib.cz/en/taxon/id3076/.
The names of classes, orders and families, as well as the belonging to them of the genera Bryophytes are given according to the checklist Systematic Arrangement of Genera of Moss Flora of Russia.
The names of classes, orders and families, as well as the belonging to them of the genera liverworts and anthocerot mosses are given according to the book by A.D. Potemkin and E.V. Sofronova "Liverworts and hornworts of Russia (vol. 1, 2009).
The names of classes, orders and families, as well as the belonging to them of the genera lichens are given according to the book "Флора лишайников России. Биология, экология, разнообразие, распространение и методы изучения лишайников" (КМК, 2014; article by G.P. Urbanavichus).

Designations adopted in the lists of taxa

In italic in the lists of taxa and in the page titles, synonymous Latin names are indicated, as well as all Russian names, except for those accepted on the site as the main ones.
The pale font denotes species represented (according to the original source lists) within the USSR only by taxa of a subspecies rank (subspecies, varieties, forms, etc.).
Red asterisks (*) mark taxa that are not in the original source lists.
Blue asterisk (*) denotes taxa whose status has changed from the original in the original source list.
