Станислав Глоц | According some western botanists it is Orchis militaris subsp. stevenii, see e.g. http://apps.kew.org/wcsp. It is very interesting that western botanists don´t know that it grows also in Crimea, e.g. after the book "Kretschmar et al.: The Orchid Genera Anacamptis, Orchis, Neotinea" it grows in eastern Turkey, Georgia and further to the East. |
Alexander Fateryga | Yes, the name Orchis militaris subsp. stevenii is better. The name Orchis stevenii remains in this website from Cherepanov's vascular plants Checklist. Several western botanists who were in the Crimea during two last years know this subspicies very well, so an information about it in the Crimea can be appear in publications very soon... |
Станислав Глоц | Thank you for your answer. I think that the photo of Orchis militaris from Vladimir Savelyev (the 11th photo) from surroundings of Kislovodsk is also Orchis militaris ssp. stevenii. |
Alexander Fateryga | OK, if you are sure, you can click to those photo and move it to "Orchis stevenii". I didn't notice this because of early stage of flowers development in those photo. If it will be problematic for you to find, how to move photo, you can write a comment under those photo and moderators can move it with the information that it is your identification. |
