Не уверен, какое название лучше использовать в данном случае - во Flora of North America Opuntia dillenii синонимизируется с Opuntia stricta, но испанские ботаники разделяют эти два вида по признаку наличия или отсутствия шипов, например, во Flora Iberica и списке растений Канарского архипелага.
