Botanical description
Цв. тычиночные или пестичные. Околоцв. простой, у пестичных цв. 2—3-надрезный; у тычиночных 4-реже 2—3-раздельный. Тыч. (2—3) 4. Зв. с сидячим кистевидным рлп. Сцв. дихазий, обыкновенно. укороченный, пучковидный. Орешек яйцевидный, слегка сплюснутый. Однолетние, очень редко многолетние травы с перекрестно-супротивными листьями и сросшимися между собой прлст.
