Reach out across disciplines, across programs, and across boundaries at Biodiversity Without Boundaries 2011!
This highly regarded annual training and education event on biodiversity conservation highlights the crucial role that conservation science plays in our global society.
Join us May 8-12, 2011, amid the rolling hills and rich bottomland fields of southeast Nebraska, where conservation leaders, thinkers, and practitioners will convene for four days of exchanging knowledge, discussing issues, sharing innovations, and networking. With its deep commitment to conservation and sustainability, the Arbor Day Foundation’s Lied Lodge and Conference Center at Arbor Day Farm provides a unique setting for attendees to renew their own personal and professional commitments.
Biodiversity Without Boundaries 2010 drew more than 200 conservation professionals representing 116 organizations and 18 countries to Austin, Texas, with attendees ranging from scientists, natural resource managers, and environmental consultants to planners, environmental advocates, and corporate and public policy-makers. The unifying commitment of this diverse audience? Tackling urgent and emerging international conservation needs through science, collaboration, and leadership.
BWB's in-depth sessions explore a full spectrum of conservation issues and solutions:
* the science behind the pressing problems
* the information and expertise needed to direct decisions
* the tools and methods for setting priorities, planning and taking action, and monitoring and tracking progress toward goals
* the lessons learned from conservation success, collaboration, and leadership approaches.
The 2011 location in Nebraska highlights the Midwest, with particular attention to issues prevalent in the region and featuring presentations from regional programs and partners.
