Древнегреческое слово Πούς (пус) имеет много значений: https://el.wiktionary.org/wiki/πούς В данном случае больше подходит по смыслу пункт 4. η βάση (основание). То есть правильнее будет широкоствольный или что-то похожее, но никак не широконогий.
